These units include multiple 500kg, 1000kg, and 2000kg mooring sinkers, fabricated for reliable holding performance and long service life in marine environments.

What Are Cast Iron Mooring Sinkers?

Cast iron mooring sinkers are dense fabricated weights used to anchor floating structures in place — including pontoons, barges, aquaculture cages, and mooring buoys. Their mass provides resistance to current, tide, and wind movement. When submerged, a 2000kg mooring sinker retains effective weight in water due to its steel density and design, ensuring stable anchoring in all sea conditions.

Yard Handling and Transport Notes

All mooring sinkers were banded with white strapping while in our yard — this is strictly for safe movement and loading operations. Final transport to site is handled by our specialist haulier who securely straps each unit to the bed of the truck using certified load restraint systems for road safety and compliance.

In addition to the sinkers, we’ve supplied the full chain assemblies, pre-assembled with shackles for quick and secure connection to each mooring sinker. This reduces on-site fitting time and ensures the correct components are paired from the outset.
