Product Description
Our 8-strand nylon multiplait rope is a high-strength marine rope designed for demanding mooring, securing, and general boat handling applications. Manufactured from 100 percent nylon fibres, this rope offers superior breaking strength, excellent shock absorption, and strong resistance to abrasion, making it well suited to marine environments where durability and reliability are essential.
We can cut to length and make off ends with thimbles, wear sleeves and more.
Compared with standard polypropylene ropes, nylon rope provides a significantly higher breaking load and improved resistance to wear when used around cleats, fairleads, and mooring points. Its natural elasticity also allows it to absorb shock loads caused by vessel movement, waves, and tide changes, reducing strain on both the rope and the mooring hardware.
The 8-strand multiplait construction provides a balanced rope structure that remains flexible and easy to handle even in larger diameters. This design reduces the tendency for the rope to kink or twist, while also allowing it to coil neatly and run smoothly when deployed. These characteristics make multiplait nylon rope a preferred choice for mooring lines, dock lines, anchor warps, and general boat securing tasks.
Nylon also performs well in harsh marine conditions, offering excellent resistance to abrasion and long service life when regularly exposed to water, salt, and heavy working loads. Its combination of strength, flexibility, and durability makes it widely used across leisure boating, commercial marine operations, and fishing activities.
Ropes are available cut to length and can be supplied with professionally finished or whipped ends from our workshop. Pre-spliced options are also available, allowing the rope to be delivered ready for immediate use on board or on the dock.
