A stainless steel anchor straightener is designed to ensure that your anchor approaches the bow roller in the correct orientation when it is retrieved. During anchor recovery it is common for the anchor to rotate or twist on the chain, causing it to reach the bow roller upside down or at an incorrect angle. This can lead to the anchor jamming, requiring manual repositioning, or putting unnecessary strain on the bow roller assembly.

The anchor straightener prevents this by forcing the anchor to rotate into the correct position as tension comes onto the chain. The weight and shape of the straightener naturally turn the anchor so it aligns properly with the bow roller, allowing smooth retrieval without the anchor flipping or snagging.

Manufactured from marine-grade stainless steel, the straightener offers excellent strength and corrosion resistance for long-term use in saltwater environments. It is suitable for yachts, motorboats, cruising vessels, and other craft that regularly anchor and retrieve their ground tackle using a windlass or manual system.

The unit installs easily within the anchor chain system. The swivel end attaches to the anchor chain, while the opposite end connects to the anchor using a suitable shackle. Once fitted, it works automatically each time the anchor is raised.

Two sizes are available to match common anchor chain diameters:

• 6–8mm chain
• 10–12mm chain

Selecting the correct size ensures proper operation and allows the straightener to guide the anchor cleanly into the bow roller every time it is retrieved.
