British Standard Bow Shackle

British Standard Bow Shackles are quality, high-tensile steel shackles made to the standard of BS 3032. Their strong bow-shaped design provides additional clearance when connecting chains, ropes, wire rope, slings and other rigging components, making them suitable for a wide range of marine, lifting, towing and industrial applications.

These shackles are not BS 3032 certified. They are made to the standard of BS 3032 and provide a strong, reliable and practical connection for suitable applications where the correct size and working load limit have been selected.

The screw pin design allows the shackle to be fitted, removed and reused easily. This makes it particularly useful for connections that need to be assembled, adjusted or dismantled during routine operations, including marine maintenance, mooring work, towing and general rigging.

Bow Shackles can be used for connecting mooring chains to anchors, sinkers, buoys and other fixed or floating equipment. They are also suitable for joining sections of chain, attaching lifting accessories, securing loads and connecting compatible ropes, cables and fittings.

For mooring applications, best practice is to use a shackle at least one size larger than the chain. Always select the correct shackle size and working load limit for the intended application.
