A swivel stops the riser assembly becoming twisted due to the constant 360 degree turning of the moored vessel, this is caused by wind, wave and tide, it is an essential hard working underwater component of almost all mooring systems. Our ‘Drop Forged’ and ‘EYE Blue’ swivels have proved to be very well suited to the demands created by the constant movement within the mooring assembly.

Product Description
A swivel stops the riser assembly becoming twisted due to the constant 360 degree turning of the moored vessel, this is caused by wind, wave and tide, it is an essential hard working underwater component of almost all mooring systems. Our ‘Drop Forged’ and ‘EYE Blue’ swivels have proved to be very well suited to the demands created by the constant movement within the mooring assembly.
Best practice is to use a swivel one sizer larger than the riser chain and to install it as close as possible to the surface in order to allow easy inspection. One other recommended option is the swivel on our unique rod buoy which remains above the surface allowing for easy inspection.
